I can whole-heartedly agree with your daughter's statement from my own family background and perspective. My parents loved each other and God so much, divorce was never a minute possibility...and they weren't either of them perfect, but they'll be celebrating 50 years of marriage this June. Pretty awesome.

Paterology is a pet interest of my dad's, it's the study of God the Father. I've got a blog category on it, having explored it because God the Father is said to be the most neglected member of the trinity. John 17:3 says, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Eternal life is knowing God the Father. But we so often focus solely on Jesus and the Holy Spirit's work in our hearts...

Thanks for thinking about pursuing these topics someday...I'll look forward to reading your thoughts and having some of my own provoked!

I posted my five too, Dad. And for the record, it was your love of my mother and your devotion to her that caused me to consider divorce evil, and to commit my whole life to one man, regardless of his flaws. I am blessed to have parents like you.

Thanks for the answers Mary. I had you pegged as a mid-westerner--not sure why.

Eternal security... yes, often misunderstood, usually controversial. Simply put it is pretty clear, but when folks begin thinking about "the fine points" it can easily devolve into hair splitting, sometimes accompanied by voices raised to "ear splitting" and resulting in headaches that are "head splitting." heheheh

There may be some posts lurking in your reponse to number five alright. The nice thing about "emerging church" is that it has so very many meanings to so very many people. LOL

Posting on "Paterology" sounds fun, but I can't figure out what it is! Care to enlighten me?

Backslidden Christians, now THERE's a topic with which I am quite familiar. heheheh

Thanks a lot. I may go down some of these roads.

Your idea of the perfect day sounds perfect to me too...what a blessing for Mrs. Logan to have parents so in love with each other!

Just for fun, I'll answer these questions here since I've already blogged my five...

1) I don't share where I live on the net, I'm too private. In fact, I've only very recently shared my whole name: Mary L. Allen. I do live in the mid-west USA, and wouldn't mind telling you where by email sometime. :O)
2) I'd really like to have my DH home full time (with income no less!) so we could pursue some of our dreams together (Youth Ranch). Other not-so-little items I wouldn't mind having: a digital camera and a dishwasher!
3) Probably my greatest gift, strength or ability is in the areas of encouragement, optimism, faith
4) Eternal security
5) I'd love to see your thoughts on the Emergent Church, or Paterology, or backslidden Christians...
